The latest film in the Star Wars franchise has been out for weeks now, and it’s inspiring some creativity by its fans. Case in point: the YouTube channel Huxley Berg Studios has released an entirely Lego-based remake of one of the film’s most memorable and dramatic scenes.
Anyone who hasn’t yet seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, be forewarned: people who really hate having major plot points of movies spoiled for them ahead of time should not watch this video and not continue reading. Even though it’s done in Lego, it does indeed contain major spoilers.
That warning out of the way, the video is a recreation of The Last Jedi’s memorable throne room scene, in which Kylo Ren and Rey face the nefarious Supreme Leader Snoke and ultimately square off against his crimson-armored Praetorian Guard in a frenetic battle. It’s less than three minutes in length, so it’s definitely worth the time for any avowed Star Wars fan.
The scene is undoubtedly one of the most dramatic and climactic in the film, save perhaps for the dramatic appearance of Luke Skywalker in its closing minutes. And when portrayed in Lego, it strikes a balance that’s equal parts cool, funny, and technically impressive. Also, hats off on the lightsaber effect.
The Huxley Berg Studios YouTube channel is full of such videos, including a recent one reimagining the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. In other words, fans of sci-fi movies, superhero movies, iconic children’s toys, or a combination of all three can definitely find something they can appreciate.
