The world got its first video look at a set from Star Wars: Episode VII this week thanks to an unmanned aerial drone and some ground-level snooping.
YouTube user 3dlp posted the two-and-a-half-minute video, which shows extras running around near a half-built Millenium Falcon and two X-wing starfighters. The footage is from Greenham Common, a former airbase that is now a public park about 50 miles west of London.
“We managed to lose contact between the drone and receiver unit twice during this clip,” wrote the uploader. “Oh, and don’t forget… Many Bothan’s [sic] died to bring you this information.”
If you want a closer look at the set, you’re in luck. Rick Lawrence, a resident of nearby Kingsclere, shot these videos of extras filming.
You can visit Lawrence’s Facebook page for photos of costumed actors and vehicles.
Star Wars: Episode VII is directed by J.J. Abrams and will be released on Dec. 18, 2015.
