If Han Solo asked you to donate money to charity, how much would you give?
Lucasfilm is once again partnering with Omaze, the fundraising organization that allows regular people to rub elbows with actors, rock stars, and professional athletes, on a very cool Star Wars-themed campaign. Every donation gives you a chance to win the grand prize: a trip to the red-carpet premiere of The Force Awakens in either London or Los Angeles and the opportunity to meet the cast.
The campaign, which ends on Dec. 4, will select two grand prize winners. Omaze will use the money from the campaign for 15 different causes selected by the cast of The Force Awakens. The charity page breaks down the causes and the cast members who nominated them.
To kick off the campaign, Omaze got Harrison Ford to casually stroll into a bunch of video calls between the fundraising company and past donors to Star Wars campaigns. When Han Solo himself shows up, hilarity ensues.
The base-level donation is $10, which gets you one contest entry, and donation levels scale up from there, with themed swag added in for good measure. Someone has already donated $20,000 for a life-sized replica of a First Order stormtrooper suit and 200,000 chances to win the contest.
The two winners will get four tickets to meet the cast, free flights to the premiere, and 4-star hotel accommodations. Not a bad deal in exchange for helping people less fortunate than you.
