Star Trek will explore a new world of makeup this fall with an exclusive collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. The cosmetics company announced Tuesday that the collection will be released in honor of the franchise’s 50th anniversary and include 25 products.
The line will include lipstick, studio nail lacquer, pressed pigment eye shadow, and lipgloss in what the company’s calling “cosmically charged hues.” With the announcement MAC released some stunning art featuring women from the franchise like Uhura from the original Star Trek and Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager.

“Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomena whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries,” MAC senior vice president and group creative director James Gager said in a statement. “For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek‘s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”
MAC Cosmetics is certainly no stranger to creating pop culture inspired collections, but it’s nice to see Star Trek finally entering this market like Star Wars did with its CoverGirl line last fall. Excitement for the collection spread quickly on Twitter.
