Airplane solar eclipse

The much discussed total solar eclipse has already come and gone, but for anyone that didn’t get the chance to enjoy it in person, there are plenty of pictures online from people who did. Most of them are not particularly good, given the difficulty of snapping a shot of the sun whether it is mostly covered or not. Some of the pictures, however, captured a unique moment in history with incredible skill.

This short video uploaded to Twitter captured the totality in 15 enchanting seconds.

Many of the people who managed to see the eclipse with their own eyes—through glasses, of course—didn’t get a view like the one in this video. Whoever managed to get this incredible shot (it may or may not have come from Twitter user @InternetPalace) deserves serious props for their excellent timing and their photographic skills.
