When Netflix canceled Sense8 earlier this month, fans of the sci-fi drama that was filled with a diverse, LGTBQ-friendly cast were pissed.
Though the #RenewSense8 hashtag continued even after Netflix’s announcement, it won’t be enough to flip the streaming service’s decision. That’s according to the Sense8 Facebook page anyway.

The primary reason for the show’s cancellation was because it was simply too expensive. Though the show’s followers were zealous, there apparently weren’t enough of them to justify paying $9 million per episode.
“The audience was very passionate, but not large enough to support the economics of something that big, even on our platform,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, said Saturday, via the Hollywood Reporter.
