For the first time everMystery Science Theater 3000 is getting the reunion it deserves: a one-night-only Rifftrax event with a full cast.

The June 28 event kicks off with a few educational videos (think Century 21 Calling and Progress Island U.S.A., because the future is nothing if not riff-able). Plenty of comedic banter is set to follow, along with a grand finale SUPER RIFF-A-PALOOZA!

This marks the first time that creator Joel Hodgson and second host Mike Nelson will share a matinee row alongside the likes of Tom Servo and Crow. There’s more than enough room for both MST3K hosts aboard the Satellite of Love. A little over three months ago, Hodgson laid the Team Joel vs. Team Mike debate to rest, likening the two hosts to incarnates of the Doctor in Doctor Who.

In other words, both hosts can exist without a war breaking out between the two. Proving this theory is the fact that Hodgson and Jonah Ray will be joining second host Mike Nelson and the crew for a special MST3K reunion show on June 28 in Minneapolis. The only problem is that they couldn’t have picked a worse time to announce it.

The ultimate April Fool’s Day prank is making a major announcement for a sardonic cult classic on the exact day that it will undoubtedly be laughed off as a joke. The Daily Dot reached out to the crew’s PR (who we’re assuming is just Crow T. Robot in a Mad Man-esque secretary costume) for comment, though we have yet to hear back. The AV Club was able to wrangle a quote out of Nelson, who said he’s really excited and also teased a “Cirque du Soleil-style act.”
