The first Power Rangers movie trailer was weirdly devoid of Power Rangers, resembling a generic teen drama ripoff of Chronicle.
The second trailer is basically the total opposite, featuring the new team in costume, shouting classic catchphrases (“It’s morphin’ time!”) and fighting unconvincing Transformers-esque CGI monsters. So, precisely as cheesy as you’d hope to see from a live-action Power Rangers movie. Let’s face it: No one wants this movie to be gritty and mature.
Power Rangers is due out on May 24.
