It’s been less than a day since Pokémon Go updated to include more than 80 Gen 2 Pokémon from the game’s Johto region, and players have already discovered one Pokémon that’ll help them dominate at the gym.
When Pokémon Go first came out last year, it was hard to find a gym without an overpowered Vaporeon at the helm. This time around it’s Blissey, the evolution of Chansey introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver, who’s taking over Pokémon Go one gym at a time.

You’ll need 50 pieces of candy to evolve a Chansey, which was pretty rare in the original version of Pokémon Go, and many players have already achieved that to produce Blisseys with incredible stats. What players have also discovered once they played Blissey in the gym is that it can withstand just about anything
“Blissey is the ultimate gym defender,” one redditor explained on r/pokemongo. “It can easily hold its own against two different single attackers and still almost run out the clock.”
Blissey’s near-invincibility is quickly being discovered as some players become delighted and frustrated (likely depending on whether you own a Blissey) at facing off with or against one.

Chances are, if past Pokemon are any indication, Blissey’s dominance might not last long. A few days after Vaporeon took over last year, the listed damage for the Water Gun attack was nerfed (lowered) to make it a fair fight.
