Actor Isiah Whitlock, Jr. is an absolute master of his craft—along his career, he’s worked with Spike Lee, Martin Scorsese, and Woody Allen. He’s appeared in countless television programs, including Veep, Louie, Gotham, and The Blacklist.
But his most famous role—the one people stop him on the street for—was his portrayal of Senator Clay Davis on The Wire, who had a penchant for saying the word “sheeeeeeeeeit” in a way that could never be reproduced. In fact, a webseries produced by Richard Hine and the Levity Department mined others’ inability to say “sheeeeeeeeeit” for comedy with their webseries, The Whitlock Academy.
Now Whitlock and Hine have created a bobblehead of Whitlock that can provide the phrase on demand, and you can own one for a $30 contribution to the bobblehead’s Kickstarter page. Whitlock himself can probably explain the project a bit better than I can:
With 25 days left, the Kickstarter project has nearly tripled its goal, which means that your pledge will definitely result in you getting your hands on a Whitlock bobblehead (they’re estimated to ship out in August). A pledge of $150 will get you one of 400 silver-based, hand-signed-by-Whitlock bobbleheads, while $400 dollars will get you a silver-based version and a gold-based version (of which there will only be 200); $750 will get you a personally recorded voicemail message, and higher pledges will get you crazy stuff like photos, dinners, and private acting classes.
Visit the Kickstarter page to make a pledge and reserve your sheeeeeeeeeit.
