The latest viral trend on TikTok is the “Oh No” challenge, and all you have to do to take part in it is be willing to embarrass yourself in public-—all to the sound of a remixed, sped-up version of the 1964 song “Remember (Walking in the Sand)” by the Shangri-Las.
If you want to participate you’ll need to find a video of yourself—or a friend, if you’re cool with whatever potential legal fallout comes from that—trying and failing to do something in a hilarious or painful way.
You just freeze-frame the video at the moment it all goes wrong, time it to match up to that first “oh no” on the remix attributed to artist Kreepa, and then zoom in closer each time they sing it again.
Because it’s No Nut November, a disturbingly large number of them involve self-induced genital injury. Guys, guys no, it’s not worth it.
Some are obviously staged.
And some are tragic.
But some are exactly what we need to take our minds of things at this stage in the electoral process.
Correction: This article has been updated to clarify that the “Oh No” song is a remix of “Remember (Walking in the Sand)” by the Shangri-Las
