People are posting videos of themselves selves wielding various “weapons” along with the text “let me carve my name into your pretty soft skin” for the internet’s latest emo kink meme.
The meme appears to have started when Twitter user @ug1yboy posted a video of themselves, their face out of view from the camera, moving a pocket knife suggestively close to their body. Self-harm is no laughing matter, but here the joke doesn’t seem to be on mental health but rather emo music and culture’s history of possessive dudes.

Soon after, there were copycat videos. And, then, like every good meme, the parodies began to roll in. Here is one user getting wild with a kitchen knife.

This user used not just one but three weapons in their version.

Another got creative with a sword.

And, then users started to get more creative, even remixing the original content with other memes.
One person used the goth croc meme and decided to one-up “pretty skin” with a more interesting part of the human anatomy: toes.

Kirby, the cute Super Smash Bros. character, helped convey this user’s take on carving names into the human flesh.

Twitter user @NECROMANClNG upgraded the meme by doing a FULL remix to the original content, writing: “let me carve my name into your mortal flesh vessel or whatever the fuck e-boys think they’re doing these days.”
