We’re still impatiently waiting for a release date for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but Nintendo just announced a new project that could distract us for awhile.
The gaming company has partnered with Scrap, proprietors of one of the most successful escape room companies in the U.S., to give Legend of Zelda fans an real-life adventure. Nintendo describes “Defenders of the Triforce” as a kind of escape-room experience, but customized to include the exploration and puzzle solving fans love so much from the video game.
Instead of being locked in a single room, teams of six players will work against the clock to solve a mystery in a “huge area.” Even better, beloved characters from the games like the Gorons, Zora, and Kokiri tribes will be scattered through the play area for players to interact with.
Nintendo and Scrap have released the eight-city tour schedule for the IRL adventure, including some preliminary dates. According to the website for the event, early bird tickets start at $36, with premium packages with memorabilia available for more. Tickets for the announced dates are available starting today.
