Jeffrey Pelletier, an architect based in Seattle, is building anything he can imagine, one Lego brick at a time.

When he and his husband, Christopher Pasco, moved into their latest home with their children, they took to renovating it, and that included making room for Pelletier’s collection of 250,000 Lego. By building custom shelves, he sorted his Lego, collected through a lifetime of innovation and building, into 153 bins and 189 drawers. They’re sorted by color, by size, and by function—all accessible for when he’s inspired to build something outside of the box.

“Since I was a little kid, I’ve always loved Lego,” Pelletier said. “It’s probably the reason I’m an architect now—it just inspired me.”

He’s not sure if his children will love Lego like he does, but he’ll still have his very own Lego paradise. If any of the shelves break, then it might turn into a hellish nightmare for bare feet.
