Every iPhone owner has two worst fears: losing their gadget and dropping it in water. One unlucky man experienced both of those things, but his story still had a surprising happy ending.
Imgur user ehtnaerokyug shared his story of losing his phone at sea and miraculously receiving it in the mail almost two months later. While kayaking in Monterey Bay, California, on March 13, he did what so many of us are guilty of doing: He took his phone out on the water to snap some pictures.

This guy took the proper precautions. He bought a Kobert Waterproof Case from Amazon and strung it around his neck. But after he fell in the water, he didn’t realize that his tech had come loose, because he was too busy overreacting, having also gotten caught in some seaweed when capsizing.
Once he got back to shore, he realized that his phone was gone. He put it in lost mode, but after a week of logging into the Find My iPhone app, he gave up.
Then, almost two months later, on May 8, he got this notification.

It turns out that a couple scuba diving in Monterey Bay found the phone on the bottom of the ocean. Amazingly, despite tides and sea creatures, it was still in its waterproof case. The divers reached out to the owner, who got his phone back. It was fully functional and had no water damage.
