If you’re going to tell your partner you haven’t been completely truthful with them, you’d best be honest about it.

Comedian Nathan Fielder, fresh off his success in getting followers to “accidentally” tell their parents they want to buy drugs, has ended a few relationships and strained a few more with his latest prank.

He urged his Twitter brethren to text their other half and say “I haven’t been fully honest with you,” then remain silent for an hour. Followers, who in some cases pranked their moms instead, were also urged to tweet the results.

Some of the one-sided conversations are funny, though many more are simply sad, reducing the pranked partners to states of confusion and upset all in the name of a joke.

On the other hand, it’s a somewhat clever strategy in getting your other half to fess up to their misdeeds. That said, it’s probably not advisable to do it unless you don’t see a long-term future with that certain someone.
