After months of hints about the new Harry Potter stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it’s almost time for the first public previews in London—and that means we finally get to see what the main characters look like.
The Cursed Child, which takes place 19 years after the final Harry Potter book, features a cast of 42 actors and stars Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione alongside the new generation of Potter and Weasley kids.
On Tuesday morning, the play’s Twitter account began posting photos of the lead actors in their Cursed Child costumes. Jamie Parker’s new hair color makes him look a lot more like Harry Potter than the original, non-costumed cast photo, and child actor Sam Clemmett looks convincing as his son Albus Severus.

The script for the play, written by playwright Jack Thorne based on a story by J.K. Rowling, will be published as a book on July 31, one day after the play’s official opening night. So while most of us will never see these characters onstage, Harry Potter fandom will get another chance to read and analyze a new book in painstaking detail—probably within 24 hours of its release.
