Harley Quinn has a new movie coming out where she’ll appear alongside Cassandra Cain, Renee Montoya, Black Canary, and Huntress. But don’t worry, Harley’s new flick is still based around her, and the film’s new subtitle is going viral for stressing the point with one too many words.
On Twitter, Warner Bros. confirmed the upcoming movie is now called Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Written by Bumblebee scriptwriter Christina Hodson and directed by Cathy Yan, the film is set to come out on Feb. 2, 2020, and it’ll feature Harley Quinn alongside a gang of superheroines and anti-heroines set to take down the underworld’s sinister leader Black Mask.
Fans suspect the new name hints at Harley Quinn moving away from her romantic relationship with the Joker, which would make this a promising film for Harley fans that finally want the two to call it off. Of course, there’s nothing official yet, save for the new subtitle stocked with words like “fantabulous” and “emancipation.”

However, some DC fans are upset with the new subtitle. By this point, most DC fans know Harley Quinn’s new movie as Birds of Prey. The extended name adds some additional context, but it’s certainly a mouthful. It also raises more questions than answers about Harley’s role in the film. It didn’t take long for Twitter to start riffing on the title.

make it more accurate and call it The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and the Overshadowing of Iconic Characters Turned Harley Sidekicks
One user compared the title to Harry Potter.

Another joked that it was a Fall Out Boy song.

I sincerely hope the Birds of Prey movie has a script, directing and acting good enough to back up the über pretentious title revealed today… Like Tarantino level…. I Tonya was pretty good so… 🤞 Not QUITE ready to render a verdict just yet… pic.twitter.com/aPGPDgsyqb

Yeah, I’m not calling it Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). It’s Birds of Prey, and that’s it.

Of course, not everyone disliked the new name. A couple users found it endearing, suggesting that it perfectly captured Harley’s chaotic nature.
‘Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn)’ is the most Harley Quinn title ever. Although it’s long, and will no doubt be shortened to Birds of Prey, I actually love the title.

Ok…I’m starting to come around to the Birds of Prey movie title. I understand that Harely’s name needs to be on it etc…just think WB needs to be VERY careful with their DC brands. Kudos to them for doing it though.
