That cosplaying takes place at the world’s biggest fighting game tournament is no surprise. But when a celebrity joins in on the fun, heads are bound to turn.
All the more reason, then, for her to be sneaky about it. Few would have guessed that the woman patrolling the halls of the annual Evo fighting game event dressed up as Street Fighter character Vega this weekend was Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis.
Famous for roles in films ranging from Halloween to True Lies, Curtis’s involvement isn’t a total surprise. She has in the past spoken openly about her son’s love for fighting games and has even made reference to her own Street Fighter prowess, as she does in this January interview given while promoting her role in the film Spare Parts.
She even makes reference to taking her son to a big “fighting game convention” in celebration of his upcoming high school graduation. It’s now clear that she willing not only to follow through on that promise, but to do so in style.

The only question now is, will Street Fighter players and fans see her again next year? Cammy, her character of choice, is already set to appear in Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter 5. We’ll just have to wait and see if her family’s passion for the series is enough to bring her back for a return trip to the crowded halls of fighting game glory.
