The millions of children who visit Disney parks every year believe the characters they’re meeting are the real deal
—and no wonder. As this adorable video proves, the folks dressed up as Mickey Mouse and Snow White are some serious method actors.
Amelia, 8, met the Evil Queen at Disneyland in 2010, and she just had to ask: Are you still jealous of Snow White after all these years?
The Queen didn’t break out of character once.
“Now Amelia, really, you’d think I would be jealous of that?” she sneered, directing Amelia’s attention towards Snow White. “Really? With my natural beauty, not a drop of makeup on my face, and that one, with all that rouge? You think I’m jealous of her?”
Amelia wasn’t entirely convinced. So she brought Amelia over to Snow White and fellow Disney Princesses Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella to further make her case.
Snow White, “the fairest of them all” (according to the Queen’s mirror, anyway) has been a thorn in the Queen’s side for hundreds of years. Created by the Brothers Grimm, the Queen has expressed her jealousy and tried to kill her stepdaughter multiple times over the years, from the 1937 Walt Disney animated classic, multiple live-action versions, and currently on ABC’s Once Upon a Time.
The Queen, who’s as evil as they come in Disney lore, can’t hide her contempt for any of the other Princesses. Still in character, she insults Snow White and Cinderella, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and warns Amelia, who wanted her picture taken with the Princesses, that she would have nightmares after the experience.
The crowd loves it. The Queen somehow has skirts the line between genuinely insulting the kid and making her feel lost in a fantasy world come true.
