Dolly Parton challenge

Dolly Parton’s 74th birthday over the weekend prompted fans to honor her on social media. While everyone else was sharing their favorite Parton moments and taking a stroll down memory lane, however, she was busy starting one of 2020’s first meme trends.

Just a few days after birthday wishes stopped flooding every social media platform, Parton posted four images of herself. One in a blazer, one casually sporting a Christmas sweater, a classy-looking one in black and white and, finally, a picture of herself all dolled up in a bunny suit. She labeled each picture, in order, “LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tinder,” and captioned the post “Get you a woman who can do it all.” It was an instant meme sensation.

Celebs all over the web quickly flocked to the trend. “When my agent asks if I can play different roles,” Ellen DeGenerous wrote alongside her own version of the meme.

In no time, the meme took off. First, celebrities flocked to the format, each one lauding Parton for the brilliant idea. “Yes ma’am, @dollyparton, whatever you say,” Jennifer Garner wrote, earning a simple “Perfect” from Parton.
