Today Disney revealed a video that shows the small tweaks Pixar makes to ensure fans everywhere can enjoy its movies.
Sometimes the studio simply has to translate an English word into French or Russian. Other times small animation tweaks are needed to make the movies resonate in another country. For example, a scene in Inside Out shows the young protagonist Riley trying broccoli for the first time (and not liking it), but in Japan broccoli is actually pretty popular. So instead, the studio replaced broccoli with a slice of bell pepper.
