Miller directed the first Deadpool movie and Reynolds not only starred as the title character but served as a producer. It’s unclear how this will affect the film’s script, which was reportedly being developed by Miller prior to his departure.

According to Deadline, Miller’s departure was an amicable affair that reportedly occurred on Friday. He will still helm the forthcoming Influx, a film adaptation of the cyber thriller novel of the same name by Daniel Suarez.

Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters in January of 2018.
