The college football season is long and grueling. For the Central Michigan University Chippewas, finding out where they’ll be traveling for their bowl game made it all worth it.

While some teams spend their seasons in championship contention, others hope to accumulate the necessary six wins to become bowl eligible. With a conference or national championship a far off dream, the opportunity to play in a tropical weather bowl—essentially a vacation—is all the reward the Central Michigan football team has to look forward to. So imagine the team’s excitement when players learned they could be traveling to The Bahamas for their game.
This year CMU improved their record to 7-5 and became eligible for six games—including the Popeye’s Bahamas Bowl, The Boca Raton Bowl, and the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The players watched as the possible bowl destinations were dropped one-by-one while the Jeopardy theme played. They cheered the elimination of each cold weather bowl game and mourned the loss of the warm ones—the horror at the prospect of playing in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit was audible in the room.
Eventually, after making the players sweat it out some more, their bowl destination was revealed and the celebrations began. The Chippewas are ready for fun in the sun.
