If you didn’t already have your eye on geek fashion designer Catherine Elhoffer of Elhoffer Design, you will be after you see her latest collection.
Elhoffer revealed a handmade Hamilton-inspired line Tuesday in a stunning photo shoot that pays tribute to the musical that inspired their creation. Elhoffer’s Hamilgown collection grew out of her initial desire to make a dress to wear to the Broadway show.
The resulting line that grew from there, Elhoffer said in a statement, including dresses and tunic tops. Characters such as Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Schuyler, and more are represented in the variety of looks. The detailing on these pieces—epaulettes and cuffed sleeves—are Elhoffer’s most elaborate work yet.
The designs are beautiful interpretations of the looks from Hamilton, and they include impressive styles like dresses that capture the look of coats from the show thanks to “an optical illusion due to topstitching and asymmetrical patterning.”
The photo shoot showcases all of these designs with a group of women striking some familiar poses from the musical. Seeing their genderbent versions of the male historical figures from the show also adds a fun twist.
