The theremin is a very peculiar musical instrument. It works by monitoring the electromagnetic field around the antenna, which the performer interrupts with his or her hands. These interruptions are then turned into sound—one hand controls volume, the other hand controls pitch.
So what does it sound like when a cat, which has no hands at all, encounters a theremin?
The cat is, of course, terrible at music. Here’s what this instrument sounds like if you actually know what you’re doing.
