Much went into creating the immserive look and feel of Captain America: Civil War. Those efforts have been made all the more apparent thanks to the movie’s concept artist.
Maciej Kuciara has worked on some of Hollywood’s biggest films in recent memory like X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of the Galaxy, and now he’s able to reveal what he’s created for Civil War. With the Civil War artbook release, Kuciara has started to share some of his art online.
Over the past few days, he’s posted his designs for some of the movie’s most intimate and climatic settings on social media, such as the Winter Soldier’s’ Siberian base, the Raft—the underwater fortress that started out as a prison for supervillains but was used for some of the superheroes in Civil War—and the Center of Infectious Diseases in Lagos, Nigeria. Much of the concept art is more big picture but it still captures the intensity of the movie.

But Kuciara also captures the subtlety and nuance embedded deep within the films, such as Black Panther’s confrontation with Zemo and the more personal fights between Iron Man and Captain America.

Of course, not everything Kuciara created for Marvel made it into Civil War, but it encompasses just how big the scope of the movie was from the start.
We’re Team Kuciara with this one.
