Company behind nightmarish ‘robot dogs’ makes terrifying Christmas video

Merry Christmas, and welcome to Hell.

Google-owned robotics company Boston Dynamics is best known for its walking robot dog, a four-legged metal beast that can keep its balance on rough terrain. For the holiday season, the company put its herd of robot dogs to good use in a Santa-themed video.

This video is the animal version of the uncanny valley. For a couple of seconds, you think it’s just another clip of a Santa impersonator being pulled around in a sleigh. Then you realize that the reindeer are actually headless metal robots wearing antler headbands.
