While the dog days of summer might be over, there are still some animals that want to take a refreshing dip in your pool. Yes, the bear-basking of fall has officially begun in Pennsylvania, where Dominic Lombardi encountered a rogue bear playing in the above-ground pool in his backyard.
On Thursday, the beast was so desperate for a dip he broke Lombardi’s fence just to feel the chill of the water. Footage from Lombardi’s backyard shows the animal testing the water temperature with his paws before taking a dip. The results must have been a little too cold since the animal immerses himself in the water backwards, walking around on his back feet for awhile before taking the final plunge.
If you listen close enough, it’s like you can almost hear him hissing as he dunks himself in the chilly water. After getting comfortable, he frolics on his back feet and even looks to be playing a one-bear game of Marco Polo.
So take this as a lesson folks—don’t winterize your pools just yet, there are still some furry friends that want to take a polar plunge.
