This post includes spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.
If you’ve seen Avengers: Endgame, you know it has a somewhat divisive ending.
If you haven’t, stop reading now because it’s about to get spoiled for you.
Ready? OK.
After defeating Thanos, the surviving members of “Earth’s mightiest heroes” mourn their losses and Captain America is tasked with returning the Infinity Stones to their respective timelines.
However, instead of coming back from the time jumping, Captain America decides to stay in one of the timelines and live out his life married to Peggy Carter. A much older Cap returns to the present timeline sitting on a park bench and speaks with Sam Wilson, passing on the Captain America mantle–and shield–to his friend.
The scene is a passing-of-the-torch moment for fans of Marvel’s cinematic universe, but many people had the same reaction after watching an older-looking Cap speak to Sam: He looks a lot like current 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden.

While the resemblance is pretty close, it seems unlikely that any politician could live up to being Cap.
