We all knew Fox was going somewhere good with their 12 Days of Deadpool, and now that countdown has delivered the best possible stocking stuffer for Marvel fans: the new red-band (and green-band, for the whimps among us) trailer for Deadpool.
This one’s got all the gratuitous violence and lewd Deadpool that fans campaigned so hard to keep with that juicy R-rating. That sweet Feb. 12 release date seems closer than ever—and we finally get to see more of the plot.
Since this is the Deadpool origin story, the basics outlined here should be familiar to fans. (If it’s not, don’t worry—you can catch up with our primer on why we love Deadpool.) The bright spot of this trailer is Negasonic Teenage Warhead, the surly mutant who shows up with Colossus to battle Angel Dust. Oh, and we get various shots of Ryan Reynolds without his mask, because who doesn’t love the disfigured borderline sociopath underneath all that spandex?
