Snapchat is making it even easier to spam your friends to add you on the ephemeral messaging app. The service has now made it possible for users to add friends directly through a unique URL.
To get the link, tap on the Snapchat icon in camera view and hit the “Add Friends,” menu. Then tap “Share username” and either copy or share it directly to your social networks. It will push people directly into Snapchat to add you. Snapchat will create a URL that looks like this: https://www.snapchat.com/add/selenalarson.
The new sharing option is helpful for people who are really active on Snapchat and want to spread their account across the Web. It’s now possible to plop links to Snapchat directly in your Twitter bio or personal website, instead of sharing a cumbersome Snapcode, searching your address book, or adding accounts nearby.
If your friend doesn’t have Snapchat, the link will prompt them to download the application, perhaps encouraging wider adoption for people who want to follow their favorite people and celebrities on yet another platform.
