Is the movie buff in you slightly disappointed that Back to the Future II’s version of 2015 isn’t turning out as advertised? Here’s a little something to look forward to: Nike reportedly has plans to bring to life the self-lacing shoe Marty McFly was sporting in the film. The brand intends to release it this year.

Tinker Hatfield, Nike’s innovation chief, made the announcement at the Agenda Trade Show held in Long Beach, Calif., last Monday.

While we already know that the shoe is called Nike Air MAG (Nike has been teasing the public about its release as early as 2011, and Hatfield actually confirmed the news last year) and will feature those promised high-tech Power Laces, a definite release date and price still eludes us.

All we have is a confirmation that Nike is indeed working on the shoe and that there are still “11 and two-thirds months left in 2015” left for them to make it a reality.

That also means there are still 11 and two-thirds months left for you to lose your shoe-crazy mind over the huge time gap allotted for the wait.
