Call it protest by product review.
A team of Chick-fil-A haters has taken to the Yelp page of one of the chain’s shops in Atlanta, Ga., to troll the company after CEO Dan Cathy came out as an outspoken supporter of traditional marriage.
The seven posters, whose comments have since been deleted from the site, all identified themselves as homosexuals. They told stories of visiting the restaurant with “my lover Karen” or because “my wife Sarah dragged me.” One man even wrote that the restaurant is he and his boyfriend’s favorite place to visit immediately after having sex.
“Nothing fills our bellies after an athletic bout of scalding hot man-on-man full penetration intercourse like Chick-fil-A,” user Dan C. wrote. “Recommended for all!”
All seven comments were deleted shortly after posting. The social reviews site prohibits “lewdness” from its posts and requires that reviews be “unbiased and “objective,” according to its general Content Guidelines. The site’s Terms of Service stipulates that Yelp reserves “the right to remove, screen, edit, or reinstate User Content from time to time at our sole discretion and without notice to you.
This is not the first time that a business has been the victim of trolling on Yelp. In December, a New York City dentist received more than 275 one-star reviews after it was discovered that she required patients to sign a form that “waives any right to comment publicly on or evaluate her services.”
