The deceased student is Colin Brough, according to NAU. The surviving victims include Nicholas Prato, Kyle Zientek, and Nicholas Piring. The ages of the four victims were not immediately released by university authorities.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by this incident. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and our entire Lumberjack family,” said NAU President Rita Cheng in a statement.

The name of the shooter has not yet been released.

Eight days ago, 10 people were killed in a shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, including the gunman. The incident incited a vocal national debate over gun laws, but no legal action appears imminent on either local or federal levels.
