Donald Trump had a busy day Monday. A day after 50 people were killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando, he gave an anti-terrorism/anti-Muslim speech that perfectly contrasted with the one given by presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Trump also probably spent a large portion of his day reading “Delete your account” tweets.
But the presumptive Republican nominee was active himself on social media, leaving this Facebook post and explaining that he was revoking the credentials of the Washington Post, one of the biggest and most influential newspapers in the country.
But why?
Bad grammar aside, Trump probably was referring to his comments Sunday in which he said President Barack Obama “doesn’t get [Islamic terrorism] or he gets it better than anybody understands—it’s one of the other, and either one is unacceptable.”
Sure, Trump didn’t explicitly say Obama was involved in the Orlando shooting, but he implies something strange is happening with the president. And in the video below when he was interviewed on Fox News, he repeatedly claims, in regards to Obama, that “there’s something going on.”
So, Trump has banned the Post, which now is included in the company of others who have been disallowed from covering his campaign events. As noted by Mother Jones, that list includes Buzzfeed, the Huffington Post, the Des Moines Register, Univision, National Review, and Mother Jones.
Here’s how the Washington Post responded.
WaPo to continue covering Trump “honorably, honestly, accurately, energetically, and unflinchingly,” says @PostBaron pic.twitter.com/wDB7IxFaco

Not surprisingly, other media types, including a few Post writers, virtually laughed at Trump’s decision.
Hey, @realDonaldTrump, you a) just banned the WaPo

Of course, there might be another reason why Trump isn’t a fan of the Washington Post. It has to do with the newspaper’s owner Jeff Bezos. Here’s what Trump had to say last month about Bezos, who also owns Amazon.
“Amazon is getting away with murder tax-wise,” Trump said a month ago. “He’s using the Washington Post for power so that the politicians in Washington don’t tax Amazon like they should be taxed.”
