Trump’s nomination puts him up against the likes of Edward Snowden, Pope Francis, and many others. A nomination means that one of the thousands of nominators suggested Trump’s name be added to the list.

Trump came in second place to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the Republican Iowa caucus on Monday.

Kristian Berg Harpviken, director of the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, told Agence France Presse that Trump was nominated for “his vigorous peace through strength ideology, used as a threat weapon of deterrence against radical Islam, ISIS, nuclear Iran and Communist China.” It’s not yet clear who submitted Trump’s nomination.

President Barack Obama won the prize in 2008.

Trump in the last year has said that he’ll stop all Muslims from entering the U.S., “beat the shit” out of the Islamic State, called China “America’s number one abuser,” and criticized the incompetence of American leadership dealing with Iran.
