Every so often, a famous politician’s team invents a plan with #fail written all over it.
The 2016 presidential race has already seen a few of them, but Monday was peak fun for Twitter users when Donald Trump started answering questions under the #AskTrump hashtag. Trump’s social team probably didn’t learn from the failure of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s #AskJindal, which soon turned into #BobbyJindalSoWhite, mocking the Republican candidate.
But #AskTrump won the Internet in how royally it backfired. Some got really nasty, including those about the citizenship of his hair, and comparing his head with a potato.
Here are some of the best and the worst from the lot of questions that Trump got.
#AskTrump You say the Bible is your favorite book. Do you have any other favorite books that you’ve never read?

This user even (probably correctly) preempted the reaction of Trump’s social team.

But none of the scathing questions got to Trump. Instead, he played it cool, and tweeted a picture from Twitter headquarters, saying that he loved doing this. We did too, Donald. We did, too.
