Wonder Woman is the most tweeted-about movie of 2017, according to Twitter’s own stats.
The movie inspired more than 2.19 million tweets so far, peaking on June 3. People seem to be most excited about Wonder Woman herself (of course), Batman (who isn’t actually in the movie), and Chris Pine‘s supportive love-interest character Steve Trevor. For the record, Batman v Superman was only the fifth most tweeted-about movie last year.
Up until now, 2017’s top two movies were Beauty and the Beast and La La Land, probably helped by La La Land‘s Oscar season drama. But they were no match for Wonder Woman, which combined fan commentary with celebrity support from rival Marvel franchise stars.

I got to see Wonder Woman by myself weeks ago so shut up there’s already been a man-only screening.

Of course, we still have six months of 2017 to go, and one of those months includes a new Star Wars movie. We won’t be surprised if The Last Jedi pulls ahead of Wonder Woman by the end of the year.
