Following in the footsteps of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Trek Beyond is partnering with Omaze to offer fans an amazing opportunity while helping some good causes.
Launched Tuesday, the Star Trek: To Boldly Go initiative allows fans to enter for a chance to win walk-on roles for themselves and a friend in the upcoming movie. If you win, you’ll be able to visit the closed set and hang out with the cast before making your movie debut. The grand prize winner won’t be the only one to visit the set though. Six other winners will be chosen for a To Boldly Go Crew, which will also get the chance to meet the cast and watch scenes be filmed.
Even better, your contest entry fee will help make a difference for nine global charity organizations that were chosen by the cast. All of the money raised will be split among Make-A-Wish, Brave Beginnings, Time is Precious, Koreatown Youth & Community Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, KidsCan, Heaven Homes, Camp Sunshine, and Direct Relief. Plus the more money you donate the higher your chances will be of winning. A $10 entry earns you 100 chances, a $25 entry 250 chances, and it goes up from there. You can even get rewards for donating, including a digital campaign badge and an advance prescreening of the movie.
Whether you’re a Star Trek fan or just want to help these organizations, the initiative is worth checking out. It’s great to see Omaze continuing to work with movie franchises to help charities in addition to giving fans fun experiences. After all, who wouldn’t want to join that cast dance party featured in the video?
The contest ends Sept. 1.
