Although superheroes can accomplish nearly impossible feats to save the world, they’re otherwise just like us. They have a home life, they go to school, and when they need refueling during the day they grab a cup of coffee.
A new viral stunt shared on YouTube demonstrated what happens when Spider-Man—portrayed by Chris Silcox, one of Tom Holland’s stunt double in Spider-Man: Homecoming—stops by his local Starbucks. The promotional stunt is from Sony and Thinkmodo, the company that pulled off the Devil Baby attack a few years ago. It set up a rig so Spider-Man could swoop down to grab his coffee in front of unsuspecting patrons.
Every so often, Spider-Man would come down to pick up his order from a barista and take a few selfies once people realized who just showed up. While many customers were initially shocked or surprised by Spider-Man’s appearance, the kids loved it.
“Little kids seemed to take to Spider-Man best, which was funny!” Silcox told Mashable. “[They thought,] ‘Of course Spidey’s here … Why wouldn’t he be here to grab a Cap’n Crunch Frappuccino?! It’s hot out!’”
