After two days of stoking the fires of hype, Rockstar Games officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 on its Twitter account Tuesday morning.
The game studio, best known for its Grand Theft Auto series, teased fans with photos of an upcoming project starting Sunday. The announcement comes with a tentative release date—fall 2017—but little other information.

Here’s the blurb about the game Rockstar posted to its website.
Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.
Fans may not have to wait long for more. The studio plans to release a trailer for the game on Thursday. Then again, considering how slowly it has dribbled out information this week, the trailer might be just another tease.
Red Dead Redemption was considered among the best games released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. Rockstar knows fans are eager for more, and the studio seems poised to draw out every last drop of excitement.
