Have you ever been so mad about a return policy that you knocked over store displays, trashed an entire store, and then left the folks inside looking around in stunned silence? One GameStop customer did just that, and now his exploits have been shared online for all to see.
Tarenthis Campbell took to Facebook with footage of an unknown man he began filming at a GameStop location over the weekend who chose to express his displeasure in a pretty explosive way. According to Campbell, the altercation began when the customer shown in the viral footage wanted a refund while at the counter of a GameStop retail store of the video game Fallout 76.
“This man thinks he get a full refund of fallout 76. [sic] The manager deny his request because of return the policy. So he decided to have a temper tantrum.#dontbuyfallout76,” Campbell wrote.

Fallout 76 has been receiving mixed reviews from players, due to its polarizing approach to the familiar post-apocalyptic role-playing series. It’s the first online-only entry for the franchise, and it’s currently sitting with a Metacritic score of 59, which is an aggregate of critic scores from the internet.
It’s not sitting well with fans for a litany of reasons (overall quality, lack of things to do, you name it), so the idea that this disgruntled buyer just wanted his money back because he was disappointed is certainly believable. But if you try to purchase a new game and then return it, that’s not going to fly.
It’s not made explicitly clear in the video, but it appears the man may have been attempting to return an opened product that he purchased new. GameStop’s return policy states that it does not accept returns for games that have been opened or played.
After the employee explains to the customer how the return policy works, the customer goes quiet. Then the man turns away, and there’s a loud sound that resonates through the store. The intrepid camera man whirls around to catch the damage, and the man is walking through the store knocking displays over, calm and salty as all get-out. The bystanders can hardly believe what they’ve just witnessed.
Honestly, though, Brian—the employee who answers the phone and does his job in the midst of this customer’s breakdown—is the real MVP here. That guy’s one smooth operator. We may never know exactly what the catalyst for this freakout was, but it’s immortalized on the internet for all to see.
