The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will return much sooner than expected. After releasing season 1 in time for Halloween, Netflix just announced a holiday special.
The supernatural teen drama will release a one-off episode called A Midwinter’s Tale on Dec. 14. The plot synopsis hints at some musical holiday cheer—although definitely not the Christmas kind because everyone involved is a satanic witch. Obviously.
“The Church of Night, like all covens, celebrates the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — when families gather around the Yule Fire to sing pagan carols and tell ghost stories. But the holidays are also a time for guests and visitors — both welcome and unwelcome — you never know what might come down the chimney…”
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa celebrated the announcement with a cheery animated poster of the main cast:
Praise Satan! I mean, Praise Santa! @sabrinanetflix has a X-mas Special dropping on 12/14!! I love this episode of #CAOS!! @netflix 🔮👹👼🏼🎄⚡️☃️🥂🍷☠️ pic.twitter.com/A5DPs4Dajv

Sabrina’s first season was a hit, and since the first two seasons filmed back-to-back, season 2 is already in production. Netflix hasn’t announced a release date yet, but we can expect it sometime next year.
This holiday episode will bridge the gap between seasons, and if you’re still hungry for more, we recommend checking out the original Chilling Adventures comics.
