A month after Lauren Pierce, former president of the University of Texas College Republicans, tweeted an insensitive message about President Barack Obama, her replacement did the same.
The Austin Statesman reported Monday that Cassie Wright, who replaced Pierce as president last month, took to Twitter on Sunday morning with some choice words about the 44th president. According to the story, at 2:46 a.m. Wright tweeted “My president’s black, he snorts a lot of crack. Holla. #2012 #Obama.” As of Monday morning, Wright’s Twitter feed had been set to private and whether or not the tweet had been erased was unknown.
Wright became president of the student group after Pierce tweeted her way out of the position in early November: “Y’all as tempting as it may be, don’t shoot Obama. We need him to go down in history as the WORST president we’ve EVER had! #2012,” she wrote. The message came soon after an Idaho man was arrested outside the White House for firing a gun at the mansion.
The newspaper also reported that Pierce retweeted Wright’s message on Sunday, but if that was true, she had deleted it by Monday evening.
