Pinterest has arrived on your Facebook timeline. Since late Wednesday, Pinterest users have had the option to cross-pin their photos on both social networks.
“You can now share all of these pins on your Facebook Timeline and look back at all of your projects and inspirations across the year!” wrote the Pinterest staff on its official blog.
Pinterest users have always been required to have a Facebook account in order to join. (Recently the company added the option to log in with Twitter.) However, until now, the integration stopped there.
The feature appears to be rolling out gradually, so not every Pinterest user will see it right away. When it does appear as a large prompt at the top of the homepage, users will be able to automatically pin everything to both Facebook and Pinterest with just one click.
This opportunity for Pinterest integration is actually one of 60 new apps that Facebook unveiled Wednesday. Aside from pins, you’ll soon also be able to add posts from sites like eBay, Airbnb, and Foursquare to your timeline.
We checked Pinterest’s Facebook page for comment on the new feature, but instead found hundreds of hopefuls publicly posting their personal email addresses in a plea to be allowed into the still invitation-only community. Email spammers, take note!
