The original Star Wars Holiday Special is so bad, it makes The Phantom Menace look like The Empire Strikes Back. George Lucas famously said that if he could he would find every copy of the special on earth and smash it with a hammer. Still, that abomination happened more than 40 years ago, isn’t it about time to give it another go? The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special is an intergalactic celebration done right.
Featuring characters from the recent trilogy, the new special will make right what George Lucas got wrong so many years ago. It is in fact, a bit of a sequel, following many of the same patter from the original. The Jedi Rey journeys through the galaxy with BB-8 to polish her knowledge on The Force. They take a detour to Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day, but is hurled into an adventure across space and time. Will she solve her quest and make it to Kashyyyk in time to unwrap Life Day presents? Who knows, but at the very least, unlike the original, Bruce Vilanch is nowhere near this special.
