Dogs are usually a person’s best friend but sometimes, they can cause mischief. A woman on TikTok revealed that her dog stole a bag of Great Value Tilapia from someone’s porch and brought it to her.
The eight-second clip was uploaded by user Nyosha Boone (@osha_5). She stands on her home’s welcome mat with her dog, holding a plastic bag.
“Look at this,” the creator says as she films herself unpacking the contents of the plastic. “I see her coming down the street, dragging something.” Then, she unveils the item in question: a bag of 4-pound Great Value Tilapia fillets. “She done got somebody’s tilapia off of their porch,” Nyosha says, concluding the video.
Nyosha’s dog does not appear to be underfed so why exactly did it steal her neighbor’s fish? According to Petcube, “Some dogs steal food simply because they have never been taught that it is inappropriate. Boredom and a lack of exercise can lead to more thieving and many other behavior problems in pursuit of entertainment. Thieving may be a symptom of dog separation anxiety.”
The video amassed 1.1 million views, and viewers were highly amused in the comments.
“She a provider,” one viewer joked.
“That fish is $24 a bag. A win is a win,” a second wrote.
“Not her watching to make sure nobody looking she saying hurry and put it in the house ma,” a third quipped about the dog still being on alert after her caper.
“She just tryna contribute to the house! She said, ‘Look, I’m bringin in groceries now, so I’mma need my walks and treats to be on time,’” a fourth commented.

Nyosha’s dog isn’t the first animal to be caught red-pawed. Back in July, an otter broke the internet after videos began to circulate of the animal trying to steal surfboards from surfers in Santa Cruz, Calif. Although there were many attempts to catch the otter using nets, she proved to be too smart for her would-be captors with the article reporting that she “approached crews trying to lure her with a surfboard, but managed to swim away each time.”
In another instance of a pet absconding with something that didn’t belong to it, a cat named Jax was found stealing in a Sacramento neighborhood. For four years, the elusive “Klepto Kitty” roamed the area where neighbors claiming that “various items [disappeared] around their houses.”
