It’s Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, and that can only mean one thing: It’s time for the big “Anti-Beyoncé Protest Rally” outside NFL headquarters on Park Avenue in New York City!
The event, organized by, uh, someone who loves the police, former mayor Rudy Giuliani, and wearing the color blue, is intended to express outrage that Beyoncé “pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Super Bowl” and disapproval of “some of the methods used by [Black Lives Matter] and the Black Panthers.” Adherents to this newfound cause are, according to themselves, not “racists,” and planned to be “absolutely peace [sic] & non-aggressive” in making their views public.
Let’s get a look at the turnout from this morning.

Whoa! Even if you believe Beyoncé‘s “Formation” strikes an essential nerve, furthering the current dialogue about race in America, you’ve got to admit: People are angry about it. They feel so strongly, in fact, that they’re totally willing to call for a massive demonstration in the heart of a major metropolis, only to flake out when the forecast calls for drizzle. That’s real commitment—the kind that breaks down walls and changes the world.
But all the protesters who didn’t bother to show aren’t going unchallenged.

Guess we won’t be settling this issue anytime soon. It’s clear that the country is split right down the middle—on one side, the millions who support Beyoncé and social justice, and on the other… nobody.
It’s war out there.
