Looks like McDonald’s doesn’t understand that the most important component to any and all mozzarella sticks is… cheese.
Customers of the fast-food chain have been ordering the new item as a part of McDonald’s McPick 2 promotion menu, only to find out their mozzarella sticks are lacking any actual mozzarella. Many of have understandably taken to Twitter to voice their disappointment with the new item, posting photos of hollow tubes without gooey, warm cheese inside.
I came in with extremely low expectation for @McDonalds mozzarella sticks…..yet somehow I was still disappointed pic.twitter.com/G7IlmQp7b5

Seriously, it’s a travesty: buying a container of mozzarella sticks you assume have cheese in them, then breaking them apart to find them totally empty. Fortunately, McDonald’s is trying to fix their mistake, according to this statement to the Chicago Tribune:
“We are aware of a low volume of guest concerns about our Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. In these instances, we believe the cheese melted out during the baking process in our kitchens and shouldn’t have been served. We apologize to any customers who may have been affected. We are working to fix this in our restaurants.”
Well, at least you’re considering making McGriddles an all-day breakfast menu—so we can’t be too mad at you, McDonald’s. But come on.
